Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling
Tub surrounds, ceramic tile, vanities, sinks and cabinets, from one fixture to the whole room.
The caulk and grout fail long before the room does
Most bathroom calls start small. A black line of caulk where the tub meets the tile. Grout that has cracked and crumbled in the corner. One tile that sounds hollow when you tap it. A pedestal sink that wobbles, or a cabinet door that won't hang straight. In Zionsville and Avon the age of the house varies a lot, but the pattern is the same: water finds the gap, and what you see is the last stage of something that started behind the wall.
Kitchens ask for a different kind of attention. Cabinets that sag from the wall, a sink basin that has stained, a counter edge that has lifted, a floor tile that has cracked at a doorway threshold. Those are all fixable one at a time, or as part of a full kitchen remodel when the whole room is ready for it.

Strip to the sub-surface, then set, grout and seal
On a tile job, the old surround comes down to the bare wall first so I can see what is behind it. If the wall is soft, it gets repaired before any tile goes up. Then layout lines go on so cuts land evenly at the corners and around the faucet, tile is set in even rows, the grout lines are kept uniform, and the grout is cleaned and sealed once it cures. At the change of plane where the tile meets the tub, I use caulk, not grout, because that joint moves.
A sink replacement means shutting off the supply, disconnecting the old basin and trap, setting the new one level and tightening the connections, then running water to check every joint. The pedestal sink in the photos below shows the same small room before and after. In Plainfield and Noblesville, a vanity swap often goes hand in hand with a new faucet and fresh paint on the walls around it.
I'm a licensed general contractor with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Plan Commission and Building Authority, so a remodel with plumbing in it is handled by the same person from start to finish, not passed around.
Ventilate, recaulk, and the room lasts
A bathroom fan that runs after a shower does more for your tile than any sealer. Wipe the tub line when it's wet, and recaulk the day a seam starts to open, not the day it turns black. Seal the grout again when water stops beading on it.
Kitchens in Geist and Broad Ripple tell the same story from a different side: check the supply lines under the sink, the caulk behind the faucet, and the cabinet hinges once a year. If something has already gone soft or stained, call 317-850-6427 and I'll look at it and write up an estimate.
